Bavaria Brewery ((スペイン語:Cervecería Bavaria)), formally known as Bavaria S.A., is a Colombian brewery company founded on April 4, 1889 by Leo S. Kopp, a German immigrant. *1889. The corporation Kopp's Deutsche Brauerei Bavaria was created on April 4, 1889.
*1902. Cervecería Unión was founded in Medellín.
*1910. La Pola beer was launched to the Colombian market.
*1913. Cervecería Barranquilla was founded.
*1913. Águila beer was launched.
*1930. Consorcio de Cervecerías Bavaria is created, as a result of the merge of Kopp's Deutsche Brauerei and other regional breweries.
*1933. Cervecería Barranquilla y Bolívar S. A. was founded.
*1959. Consorcio de Cervecerías Bavaria changed its name to Bavaria S.A.
*1967. Cervecerías Bolívar and Barranquilla were merged to create Cervecería Águila S.A.
*1967. Merger of Cervecerías Aguila and Bavaria.
*1972. Bavaria purchased Cervecería Unión from Medellín.
*1973. Cervecería Bavaria is inaugurated in Bogotá.
*1975. Bavaria purchased the plant of Cervecería Litoral, located in Barranquilla.
*1981. Bavaria became an public corporation with shares at the Colombia Stock Exchange.
*1990. Bavaria acquired Central de Cervejas in Portugal.
*1992. Maltería Tropical was inaugurated in Cartagena.
*1994. Production of bottled drinking water and fruit refreshments started.
*1996. Grupo Empresarial Bavaria was created.
*1997. First split of Valores Bavaria, which separated Bavaria S.A. to be exclusively focused on beverages; consolidated in 2001.
*2000. GEB acquired 44.2% of Cervecería Leona in Colombia.
*2001. GEB purchased 91.5% of Cervecería Nacional in Panamá.
*2001. Bavaria restructured its productive platform.
*2002. Launching of Aguila Light beer.
*2002. GEB invested in Corporación Backus of Perú and purchased the majority of shares with right to vote.
*2003. Cervezería Nacional became part of GEB.
*2003. Bahía beer is launched.
*2004. Agua Brisa with gas and Malta Leona Cool were launched to the market.
*2004. GEB became the tenth largest brewing group in the world.
*2005. In October this year GEB became part of SABMiller.
